Moritz Kranich bested six other renowned poker players to win the WPT Bellagio Cup VI pocketing a total of $875,150 grand prize. He won over Phil Ivey, a pro from Full Tilt Poker who despite having started late in the game, was able to make it into the last leg of the tournament. The six players who made it into the final table were Eric Afriat, Phil Ivey, Robert Akery, Justin Smith, John Caridad and Moritz Kranich. Eric Afriat had the shortest stack among the six and dropped out of the game early, followed by Akery and Smith. The latter played impressively all throughout the tournament and most likely gained the admiration of a lot of fans and players.
But Moritz and Caridad already racked up a strong chip lead that even Phil Ivey, despite his good Full Tilt Referral Code showing at the felt, was eventually forced to succumb. Full Tilt Poker pro Ivey settled for third place with a win of $363,650. Moritza Kranich and John Caridad, having held on to their positions as chip leaders, duked it out until the end but it was Kranich who eventually seized the lead and win the competition.
